Where to Stay in Glasgow: An Introduction

I remember heading to Glasgow four years ago and being amazed at how cool the place is! The first hotel I stayed in was Citizen M, but I’ve stayed everywhere from Glasgow Central to Serviced Apartments since! The city is certainly not boring and for some reason I get the sense that a lot of people preconceive the city as this boring, ugly, scheme place filled with neds but that is the complete opposite! You don’t need to be in Glasgow for long to get a sense of the type of person Glaswegians are. They’re a big massive community in a beautiful, live, culture packed city.

Where should I stay Glasgow? Wheres convenient, what hotels are good?

If you’re staying in Glasgow for a couple of nights, just stay in the City Center and make the most of your time there!

The city center is a convenient place for any traveler to stay. The city center has fantastic hotels to choose from, amazing restaurants, Nightclubs, Pubs, Cinemas and plenty of shops! If you’re coming to Glasgow by train then you’ll probably be able to walk to your hotel. You can also explore the city on foot as well and if you’re wanting to venture out a bit then there is plenty of taxis available or an Uber. The metro system is also pretty easy to figure out and Glasgow has a really good rail system. You certainly won’t be lost for things to do!

Citizen M — This was the first hotel I stayed in when I came to Glasgow. I’m a huge fan of the chain now! they offer rooms that are modern, clean and just what you need for a trip away. Your room gets a massive kingsize bed and everything is controlled by an Ipad. The iPad can change the color of the shower and the room lights. You also get a TV with a great selection of movies and things to watch. Its not really the sort of place to stay with a family member though. The showers have glass doors that you can see through.

Grasshopper’s Hotel — A great hotel and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s not a budget hotel but isn’t luxury either. It fits nicely in the middle and has a lot of unique features about it! Your stay comes with a home cooked breakfast.

Frasers Hospitality – These serviced apartments were actually great! A little bit further out than the other hotels but I really enjoyed my time here. Fraser Suites Glasgow is in a beautifully-renovated 1850s Victorian building in the Merchant City.

Blythswood Square — This is one of the best rated luxury hotels in Glasgow. Bang on in the middle of the City Center. It has beautiful decor, a 10,000 square foot spa facility that has two pools, it has a movie theater and the usual restaurant and bar.

DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central — A contemporary design feel to, the DoubleTree by Hilton is quite a nice hotel, it’s got a really nice looking lobby and always has good reviews about the place!
